Fixed is Making Time’s sort-of-offspring in New York. As a club night it has lived a nomadic existence, making its home in venues ranging from the excellent (Santos Party House, Le Poisson Rouge) to the literally-a-hotel-bar (The Tribeca Grand).
Fixed’s graphic identity was designed to stand out from the visual mess of its immediate neighbours; the club flyers and posters of Lower Manhattan. Each headliner was reduced to a single glyph and a solid coloured background, or if they were very lucky, a gradient. Though at first all text was set in Albertus, by the later stages of Fixed’s lifespan this had been exchanged for my typeface Ezekiel.
